Turandot is a magnificent tale of love, courage, sacrifice, and transformation, set in the legendary imperial court of ancient Beijing.
Princess Turandot is renowned for her extraordinary beauty and icy heart. To avenge the suffering of a distant ancestor, she vows never to marry unless a suitor can solve her three impossible riddles. Those who fail are executed.
The unknown Prince Calaf falls instantly in love with Turandot and boldly accepts the challenge. Against all expectations, he answers every riddle correctly. Instead of claiming his reward, he offers Turandot a chance to escape the marriage: if she can discover his name before dawn, he will willingly surrender his life.
As the entire city searches for the mysterious prince, the devoted slave girl Liù sacrifices her own life rather than reveal Calaf's identity. Deeply moved by her courage and selfless love, Turandot's heart begins to change. Calaf reveals his name of his own free will, placing his fate in her hands. In the end, Turandot renounces fear and vengeance, embraces love, and declares Calaf the victor.
