Otello - Guiseppe Verdi

Otello is a gripping tragedy of love, jealousy, betrayal, and manipulation.

After a victorious campaign, the noble general Otello returns to Cyprus with his devoted wife, Desdemona. Their happiness is soon threatened by the cunning Iago, who secretly plots Otello's downfall out of envy and resentment.

Through lies, deception, and carefully planted evidence, Iago convinces Otello that Desdemona has been unfaithful with the young officer Cassio. Consumed by jealousy and unable to distinguish truth from falsehood, Otello's love gradually turns into suspicion and despair.

Blinded by rage, Otello kills the innocent Desdemona. Moments later, Iago's treachery is exposed, and Otello realizes the terrible mistake he has made. Overcome with guilt and grief, he takes his own life beside the woman he truly loved.

Essence
Otello is one of Verdi's greatest masterpieces, combining intense psychological drama, unforgettable orchestral power, and deeply expressive vocal writing. It is a timeless exploration of love corrupted by jealousy, the destructive force of deception, and the tragic consequences of misplaced trust.
