La traviata is one of the world's most beloved operas, telling a deeply moving story of love, sacrifice, and redemption in the elegant society of 19th-century Paris.
The celebrated courtesan Violetta Valéry meets the young nobleman Alfredo Germont, who sincerely falls in love with her. Touched by his devotion, Violetta leaves behind her glamorous but lonely life, and the couple begins a peaceful life together in the countryside.
Their happiness is shattered when Alfredo's father, Giorgio Germont, asks Violetta to end the relationship. Fearing that the scandal surrounding her past will destroy his daughter's future and his family's reputation, he pleads with Violetta to sacrifice her own happiness. Out of selfless love, she agrees and leaves Alfredo without revealing the true reason.
Believing he has been betrayed, Alfredo publicly humiliates Violetta before learning the painful truth. By the time he seeks forgiveness, Violetta is fatally ill with tuberculosis. In their final reunion, the lovers briefly dream of a future together before Violetta dies peacefully in Alfredo's arms.
