I Capuleti e i Montecchi tells the timeless tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, set against the bitter feud between two noble families in medieval Verona.
Romeo, leader of the Montecchi, and Giulietta, daughter of the Capuleti, are deeply in love despite the hatred dividing their families. Giulietta is forced by her father to marry Tebaldo in an attempt to strengthen political alliances, leaving the lovers with little hope of being together.
Determined to escape their fate, they devise a desperate plan. Giulietta drinks a sleeping potion to fake her death, believing she will later reunite with Romeo. Tragically, Romeo is unaware of the deception. Finding Giulietta seemingly lifeless, he believes she has died and takes poison beside her.
Moments later, Giulietta awakens to discover Romeo dying in her arms. Unable to live without him, she embraces death herself, ending their lives but leaving behind a timeless symbol of love stronger than hatred.
