The Vienna Residence Orchestra is a Viennese chamber orchestra with long tradition was founded to perform the music of the Wiener Klassik in its purest form. The numerous concert series this orchestra has performed in the last decades have taken place at some of the most beautiful palaces in Vienna.
The program has consisted of works from Mozart to Johann Strauss, played by anything from 10 to 40 musicians. In 1991 the orchestra was appointed the official representative of the City of Vienna in the festivities commemorative the bicentenary of Mozarts death and has also performed a number of concerts at the Vienna International Festival.

The Old Stock Exchange was built by the father of historicism, Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, between 1870 and 1877 in the typical Viennese style, also known as Neo-Renaissance. Hansen was a specialist in perfect acoustics, he also built the Vienna Musikverein and the Parliament. His concepts are still used in modern concert halls today.
